ARCHES aquarelpapier kan een grote hoeveelheid water opnemen met beperkte vervorming en heeft een fijne textuur.

Dit papier wordt traditioneel gemaakt op een cilindervorm en heeft een harmonieuze natuurlijke korrel. Dankzij deze methode zijn de vezels gelijkmatig verdeeld en wordt het papier gelijkmatig slap als het nat is.

De samenstelling met lange vezels van 100% katoen geeft het papier zijn sterkte, schoonheid, een natuurlijke, langdurige witheid en een onnavolgbare touch.

ARCHES is de enige papierfabriek ter wereld die zijn aquarelpapier speciaal "tot in de kern" gelatineert. Hierdoor blijven de kleuren helder en transparant en kan de verf niet in het papier dringen. Er kunnen wassingen over elkaar worden aangebracht en het papier is extra stevig om uitwissen en krassen te voorkomen zonder dat het scheurt of pluist. Het maakt het ook mogelijk om verf zowel nat als droog te verwijderen, waardoor de witheid van het papier goed zichtbaar wordt.

ARCHES watercolour paper can absorb a large amount of water with limited distortion and has a fine texture.

Traditionally made on a cylinder mould, this paper has a harmonious natural grain. Thanks to this method, the fibres are evenly distributed and the paper weakens evenly when wet.

The composition with long fibres of 100% cotton gives the paper its strength, beauty, a natural, long-lasting whiteness and an inimitable touch.

ARCHES is the only paper mill in the world to specially gelatinise its watercolour paper "to the core". This keeps the colours bright and transparent and prevents the paint from penetrating the paper. Washes can be applied on top of each other and the paper is extra strong to prevent erasure and scratching without tearing or fluffing. It also allows paint to be removed both wet and dry, making the whiteness of the paper highly visible.
