Unison pastels behoren tot de absolute wereldtop. Ze worden in Engeland met de hand gemaakt van de mooiste pigmenten en worden wereldwijd gewaardeerd om hun zachte structuur en de zoveel mogelijk monogepigmenteerde, dus goed mengbare kleuren.
De Unison pastel Lucy Pittaway set bevat 18 van deze mooie pastels en is samengesteld door kunstenares Lucy Pittaway. Zij maakt landschappen in een heldere, naieve stijl, en dat zie je terug in haar kleurenpalet.

Het is dan ook heel vreemd dat we ze in Nederland zo weinig zien, terwijl pastelkunstenaars in het buitenland ermee weglopen.
De consistentie is wat droger dan die van de wat cremige Sennelier. Maar omdat ze een heel ander kleurenpalet hebben zijn ze prima in combinatie te gebruiken.
We bezochten de fabriek in 2019 en waren erg onder de indruk van deze mensen die met hart en ziel hun pastelkrijtjes maken. Alleen pastels, in 378 kleuren en 4 formaten.

The set was put together in cooperation with Lucy Pittaway. She paints landscapes in a bright , naive style, and that is to see in this colour palette

Unison pastels are among the absolute best in the world. They are handmade in England from the finest pigments collected from all over the world.
It is therefore very strange that we see them so little in the Netherlands, while pastel artists abroad run away with them.
The consistency is a bit drier than that of the more creamy Sennelier. But because they have a completely different colour palette, they are fine to use in combination.
We visited the factory in 2019 and were very impressed by these people who put their heart and soul into making their pastel crayons. Only pastels, in 378 colours and 4 sizes.
